Agave-based spirit from Mexico. 45+% ABV, £35-£100+ for 700ml
Friends with: tequila, naturally, and tequila companions like lime, grapefruit, strawberries, hibiscus, chilli, and cinnamon. Sweet white vermouth (plus Cocchi Americano, Lillet Blanc etc) goes particulalrly well with mezcal, as do yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, Campari, Cynar, cacao and sherry.
