I've made this twice now, and it's become a new favorite. I made it with fresh raspberries and a little sugar syrup. The gin and raspberry combination is inspired!

Ocean Spray!!! My mate used to go out with the woman who got hosed down in their advert, so I've never taken it seriously.

I have a Christmas tradition of buying a load of cranberries and making the juice (basically simmering cranberries sugar, lemon juice and water - loads of recipes online). I freeze it in small ice cubes such that I have bags of them to last the year. Set yourself an annual Christmas reminder now!

I found this recipe rather sweet so I'll decrease the raspberry syrup next time. Good tip on the syrup though - Sainsburys have it in their Polish section. Thanks.

Popped to Tesco this morning and picked up a bottle of Łowicz. Very interesting taste - I think I am unaccustomed to Raspberries in cocktails, it’s a bit of a shock. I am going to try this again in the summer with garden fresh raspberries! Still, very enjoyable and now I need to know more about how this went out of fashion and the 90s version created…

Just tried that tonight and it’s delicious! Thank you for the recipe! I feel obliged to try the Sex and the City version to verify that this is truly as nice as I think it is but I have a sneaking suspicion that you will be proved right and it will be!

Don’t get me started on what the sugar tax has done to cranberry juice (which always contained far less sugar than orange juice - which is not subject to the levy!)

I have found a workable solution. Pure unsweetened cranberry juice (phenomenally tart) can probably be found in your local health food shop. This can be watered down and sweetened to taste, and then consumed like Ocean Spray in cocktails!

My maths gave me 1 part unsweetened cranberry to 2 parts of a 10% sugar syrup. Then use that as the recipe calls. Much nicer than the shop-bought stuff.

Agree re the cranberry juice ! Been struggling to find anything remotely drinkable. It gets harder and harder to avoid sweeteners.
